Have you ever met someone and thought to yourself, I’ve got that guy all figured out before he even opens his mouth, and then the guy opens his mouth and he isn’t anything like what you expected – sort of like the first time you tasted a ballpark hotdog and realized that not all hotdogs are the same or the first time you watched the Ottawa Senators play and realized that not all hockey teams suck like the Toronto Maple Leafs – and suddenly you think, I’d like to know a little bit more about this guy because he’s nothing like what I expected him to be. Well, hopefully I’m a little like that. And yes, I realize that this entire paragraph was almost one long run-on sentence.
I love breaking stereotypes. I’ve worked with non-profit organizations for the past 22 years. I’ve spoken in front of crowds of thousands one night, then led an intimate gathering of a dozen people the next. Along with communicating passionately, I love working out, especially if it includes kettle bells. I’m trying to get into running. I love motorcycles, mountain biking, technology and gadgets (I’m an Apple fanboy).
I like to design websites and help others discover the world of social media. I’m big into networking and find it amazing that you can develop a friendship with someone halfway around the world. Someone you may never meet in person.
I love hanging with passionate people. Even if someone is passionate about something I don’t give a rip about, I love seeing the intensity in their eyes. I enjoy deep conversations about the very things that make a person passionate. So, what are you passionate about? And, did you notice that every sentence in this paragraph has “passion” in it? How clever is that?!?
