This week we are launching into a 5-week series called Ask The Pastor. For the past month, we’ve been collecting questions during the two church services as well as via email. Using those questions, we’ve come up with the top five, and over the next few weeks, we’ll do our best to answer them. I think it’s going to be a fun series. The questions are quite varied, ranging from scientific (creation vs evolution) to spiritual (Heaven and Hell) to unusual (UFO’s and aliens).
Of course, we can’t cover all the questions in a five week series. So, I’ve decided to try and tackle the questions we wont cover during the services right here on my blog. If you have a question you’d like to ask, feel free to send me a note. We’ve set up two email addresses: AskThePastor@bikerschurch.com and AskThePastor@citychurch.net. While we can’t add more questions to the ones we’ll cover in the services, I will do my best to answer them online.
My hope in this series is to get people thinking. While we’ll do our best to answer the questions being asked, my goal is that we’ll dive deeper into some of these topics and discover even more questions. There are very few things more rewarding than to press into why you believe what you believe and come away with a deeper appreciation of faith.
So, if you’re in the Ottawa area, why not join us? Invite someone to come with you. I think people love being in an atmosphere where asking questions is safe. Where people honestly try and come up with answers while still respecting the views of others. That’s what we’ll be doing over the next five weeks.
And, keep an eye on the blog over the next month or two. Right now, I have five or six questions that I’ll be covering here instead of in this services. Depending on what else comes in, we might have enough questions to take us through the summer.
