Catching Up

What a crazy few weeks. I don’t think I’ve posted an update since the weekend of the Swap Meet. Funny how life can get demanding, isn’t it?

We wrapped up the Red Letters series at both churches last weekend, and then dove into our new series this past week. I’m calling it Multiply, and it’s a series about setting financial priorities. It’s a challenging one. After all, anytime you speak on money, generosity, and tithing, you make people a little uncomfortable. And yet, I believe churches do a disservice to their members when they avoid the subject completely. So, we’re going for it.

It’s been a busy week with multiple board meetings as well. I think that’s the biggest challenge of pastoring two churches. It isn’t the services, or the preaching, or even the other ministries that are connected to the churches. It’s the administration, board meetings, budgets, etc. that weigh on me. I’m convinced that once we find a solution to that side of things, things will really take off here.

So, a short update. This weekend, I’m off to Peterborough to participate in a Bike Blessing with our Kawartha Bikers Church. I love those guys and am so proud of all they’re doing.

If you want to watch the first week of the Multiply series, you can view the Bikers Church version here, and the City Church version here.
