We wrapped up the Living A Life Of Purpose series this week at both churches. I believe it impacted a lot of people and hopefully will encourage many to begin living their lives as God created them to experience life.
Bikers’ Church
- Worship rocked. I’m truly amazed at how good the band is getting each week. I recognize that some of the worship is a stretch for some. And yet, the majority seem to be engaging and loving the direction of our worship. I know I love it. Still, as a pastor, I think it’s important that I help walk everyone through the journey we’re on, and so I’m going to take a few minutes to talk about worship this week.
- The crowd was very energetic. Perhaps it was because service was on St. Patrick’s Day. I’m sure more than a few people were heading out to hang together following the service. But, the energy was fun and I enjoyed wrapping up the series in that environment.
City Church
- The most powerful part of the service was during the worship, when Cam decided to do a classic hymn. He had decided the night before to change up the song list and add it. Which was interesting, because as he was feeling directed to do that on Saturday night, I was in my car listening to a CD of a band that took classic hymns and updated the music. I was saying to Heather that I’d love to see Cam introduce some hymns to the worship. And the next morning, he is! It blew me away.
- I was pumped for the message. In fact, my notes were largely forgotten as I dove into each point and simply ran with it. It was fun, and hopefully people still got the idea of what I was trying to say in wrapping up this series.
- Following the service we had our Annual Congregational Business Meeting. I loved how casual and easy going the meeting was. Everyone was upbeat, excited, and positive about the direction of the church. Very good meeting. We also saw a bunch of new members introduced into membership. Very cool!
