Week two of pastoring two churches was simply amazing.
Bikers Church
- The attendance was one of the highest we’ve ever seen. In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, it was the second largest crowd we’ve ever had at the church. The cool thing was most of the people in attendance are people I can see coming every week. Simply amazing.
- Worship was out of the park. Cam pulled together the teams from both churches for the very first time on Wednesday night. Some of the members had never met each other before. And yet, 24 hours later, they were playing as one team. Yes, there were a few mistakes, but I was blown away by how good they sounded so quickly. I can’t wait to see how the develop together.
- It was wonderful to pray over four of our people who are heading to Mexico on a mission trip. They are going to have an incredible experience.
- Communion was truly special. I invited people in need of healing to stand so we could pray with them. So many people stood to their feet. So many needs. Such a powerful God willing to touch them.
City Church
- During our first service, I challenged people to invite others to join us for this week’s series launch. I was curious to see how people would respond. Well, I thought they did an amazing job! While I don’t have the numbers in front of me, I do think there was a very decent crowd. Certainly much bigger than normal.
- Worship was great. I think people were thrilled to have a full team on the stage. I am still blown away by how great this team sounded considering they’ve had one practice and one live service to this point. Yes, I’m sure they would say there is room for improvement, but they sounded amazing.
- One of the board members commented on how clearly there is a sense of community developing. Both last week and again this week, it was necessary to start turning off the lights in order to get people to leave an hour after service was over. People were hanging around, enjoying a coffee, and chatting with one another. Great to see.
- My gut feeling is that we are on to something truly special here. I can’t wait to see it grow.
So, both services were amazing. In these early stages of this partnership, it would seem that the two congregations are getting stronger. That is wonderful to see.
I can’t wait for week three!
