Christmas Break

If you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, you know I haven’t been posting much lately. I have wrestled with whether or not it’s time to shut down the site. I’ve found myself thinking more and more about what to do with this place over the past few weeks. I have over 100 blogs that I subscribe to. Now, I rarely read more than 10 posts a day, but I get them stored up in my Google Reader.

I’ve found it interesting that at least half a dozen of the blogs I’ve read have recently decided to shut down. In fact, in one day alone, I saw three different blog authors write about how they’ve decided to move on from blogging. It seems that Facebook & Twitter allow for more direct communication, and they feel their blog has served its time.

I’m not quite there yet … but I’ve decided to take a three week break from blogging. During that time, I’ll reflect on whether or not this blog has served its time. My gut feeling is that I’ll continue, but in a much more focused manner. We’ll see.

So, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I’ll be back to share some thoughts in early January.

Rob, I appreciate your blog, and I do read it. Not always the day you post it, I have some stored up in Google Reader as well. But, I like it. Especially the post before this one “We don’t talk enough”. It gave me a little snapshot into your world, helping me to know how to pray for you guys. Even though you’ve never seen me at a service, I’m interested in seeing you guys be effective in the city. So, think about me when you’re getting ready to post…

    soon!

Take a break Rob and when you read tomorrows newspaper, perhaps you will have gotten a partial answer to your “dilemma“
Please know that what you do matters to many.
Enjoy the break, recharge the spirit and remember.…
