Canadian Politics

I don’t think I’ve ever been as embarrassed as a Canadian as I am right now.

I was going to write a long post about it, but Jason Boucher put it perfectly on his blog today.

I disagree. I would spew forth with reasons why this a)shouldn’t be a surprise, and b)could be a bold step forward, but there isn’t room and this isn’t the place.

    Craig,
You are right: it shouldn’t be a surprise. That still doesn’t make it right.
Do I think Harper is innocent in all of this? Absolutely not. I think that he has brought this on himself and he is no better than any of the other guys leading a party today.
Still, in the end, he is the ELECTED leader of the government. Yes, a minority government, but still, he was voted into that role by a democratic process.
IF the other parties disagree with his direction, then they should vote against the bugdet and bring down the governement and go back to the polls. The reason they will not do that is because they know that they would lose any election that took place today.
It is sad when our leaders decide to take it upon themselves to ignore the wished of the voters.
    Dion as Prime Minister? Shame.
