Every year, on a mailing list of pastors, I offer my thoughts on the Canadian teams. While I’m not always perfect, I do get them pretty close.
I figured this year I should post my predictions on my blog, just so that even more people can mock me when I get them wrong!
So, here goes: my guess on how the Canadian teams will do this year:
East will finish:
Montreal
Ottawa
Toronto
West will finish:
Calgary
Vancouver
Edmonton
Montreal and Ottawa will make the playoffs (it will be Ottawa’s 12th consecutive year in the 2nd Season, the only Canadian team that can boast that). While I think both Montreal & Ottawa have a shot of making it to the Finals (if certain things fall into place), I think it will be tough to knock of Pittsburgh this year in the East. Toronto will be no where near the playoffs. In fact, they have a good chance of finishing in the bottom four teams in the league this year! The only good news they have is they play in the same Conference as the Islanders and Atlanta.
My gut says that all three Western Teams will make the playoffs, although Edmonton will be on the bubble. None of the teams has a chance against Detroit unless the Wings suffer some major injuries. Baring that, they should just give the Wings the Western Conference Championship now.
So, what do you think?
