One Prayer

This past summer, many churches partcipated in the One Prayer campaign. Pastors were invited to preach a sermon on a prayer they have for the Church at large.

I want to throw this out on a more personal level. If you could pray for one thing, what would it be? No rules or guidelines here … just totally open ended —

What would your one prayer be?

My one prayer would be for all churches to become united as one in that one prayer. For there to be a general consensus for all Chirstians to listen to God’s word and become “of like mind” to follow the teachings or our Lord and Saviour as they have been given to us. To put aside secular and “religious” man made teachings and to follow God as He truly would like us to be!!!

I would pray for strength. Not physical strength. But mental strength. Right now, I need mental strength, that I don’t know if I have, to keep me going. Since the feeling of homesickness has set in I find I have moments when I’m mean and grumpy, and I need strength to have patients then. Also the strength to keep going, everyday. Some days it’s hard to leave my room because I know the comfort of my own home and country is no longer there. So, that’s what I would / am pray(ing) for.

Greed would end and the world would be fed and healed. That is off the top of my head.

How about as Bruxy Cavey says in his book The End of Religion. The end of a set of systems and rules that allow or prevent a genuine relationship with God. Just a thought
