Well, I’m sitting in my office at City Church, slowly getting set up and comfortable. It’s a new experience. A new challenge.
Last night, we had our first board meeting. What an amazing group of people. I was so impressed with their desire to serve God through their role in leadership. Personal agendas and opinions were put aside in a desire to do what is best for the whole church. I am excited to serve with them.
This morning I chatted with Caleb, the youth pastor. His passion and energy is contageous. He has some great ideas for the entire church body. He is going to be a valuable asset, along with Wanye (the assistant pastor) as we move along.
It’s strange sitting in another office. Right now, I feel like a guest in someone else’s home. There are books on the shelf that are not mine — I’ve never read them. I need to pack most of them up and put them aside. I need to make my desk more comfortable — figure out the best place for things to sit. I need to make this home.
I am so grateful for the people of Bikers’ Church who are allowing me to serve two congregations. They are incredibly supportive, and it’s so encouraging for me to know that they stand with me. It will be fun to go through this process with them.
Well, time to do some touring of the building. Figure out a little more where everything is. It’s gonna be a blast.
